About

In Otosan, you play as a teenage boy who has the house to himself for a week. Each day is a new adventure. Will you sneak into that creepy abandoned house by yourself, or help the owner of the corner store? Whatever happens, just make sure you call your dad at the end of the day, and tell him how it went.

Frequently Asked Questions

When is Otosan coming out?

The tentative release window is Q4 of 2019, but this will ultimately depend on Patreon pledges. No matter what happens, I will continue to create as much new content as I can, as fast as I can.

How can I play? Is there a demo?

A demo will be available for Windows, Mac, and Android sometime in the near future. Patreon supporters can try out new features in a special "no spoilers" environment.

What language is Otosan written in?

It is built in SixEngine, which is a game engine that I also created. The engine is written in JavaScript, and it runs directly in a web browser.

Is this a ROM or a ROM hack?

No. Although it feels a lot like a classic SNES game, it is an all-new game built from scratch.
